Lusine Abrahamyan

Dr. Lusine Abrahamyan is a Scientist at the Toronto General Hospital (University Health Network) and an Associate Professor in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto. She is the Scientific Chair of the Canadian Research Network for Adult Congenital Heart Disease interventions (CRN-ACHDi).
Her educational background includes an MD from the Yerevan State University (Armenia), an MPH from the American University of Armenia and a PhD from the University of Toronto. She also completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at ICES contributing to development of best practices to develop pan-Canadian cardiovascular quality indicators endorsed by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. 
Dr. Abrahamyan has expertise in comparative effectiveness research and health technology assessment using clinical trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, surveys, and economic evaluation studies. Her team at the Toronto General Hospital (University Health Network) conducts studies to answer high priority research questions in adult congenital heart disease. In addition, she has led and continues to lead evaluation of resource utilization and cost-effectiveness within clinical trials for different conditions. 

 

I have research interests in comparative effectiveness and health technology assessment using observational studies, clinical trials, systematic reviews, economic evaluations, and health administrative databases. I primarily focus on epidemiology and outcomes of congenital heart disease, cardiovascular and other chronic diseases, and perioperative medicine.
