The University Health Network Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) , a University of Toronto teaching hospital, is seeking applicants for the Stephen G. Caudwell Chair in Immunotherapy Research. The term of the Chair position is five years, with the opportunity for one five-year renewal following a successful review.
The Stephen G. Caudwell Chair was created to support a basic scientist or clinician scientist who leads an internationally recognized research program in cancer immunotherapy and plays a leadership role in advancing immune-related research at UHN. Applicants must have their primary appointment at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) and align with the Chair's research and leadership focus as outlined in the agreement. Named Chairs recognize sustained excellence in research, so Chairs would be awarded to University of Toronto Faculty at the level of Associate or Full Professor.
Endowed Chairs are for outstanding established researchers. Applicants must have a proven track record of research excellence and scholarship, including, but not limited to, high-quality research outputs such as publications, research funding, training of highly qualified personnel, and knowledge translation activities. They must have ample contributions outside the lab, including, but not limited to, leadership positions, program development, teaching, significant research contributions as collaborators, and recognition internationally as leaders in their field. Importantly, applicants will propose an original, innovative research program of the highest quality and highlight how they are advancing immune-related research across UHN.
Applications should include:
- A two-page research proposal describing research plans for the position and highlighting the major themes of research to be completed over the next five years;
- Current curriculum vitae (CV), covering the past five years. Applicants with eligible career interruptions and other circumstances that may have affected research productivity can extend the CV coverage to match the leave time (e.g., an applicant with a one-year leave should submit a CV covering the past six years).
- One-page plan describing vision and actions to advance immune-related research at UHN and the University of Toronto through collaboration, engagement and or networking.
Applicants will be required to give a 10-minute (maximum) presentation on these items to the Selection Committee.
Please contact margaret.kinyanjui@uhn.ca by April 2, 2026 if you would like to apply for this Chair. Include the name of the Chair that you are applying to in your submission.
