Dr. Jassal has an active interest all aspects of care of seniors with kidney disease and in palliative renal care. Her research has a strong clinical focus, with expertise in prospective cohort study design and the use of administrative data to identify clinically relevant problems, and using randomized control trials to evaluate the value of interventions. Research projects in her lab focus on the following:

• Functional outcomes in elderly patients initiated onto dialysis
• Falls in elderly dialysis patients
• Rehabilitation effectiveness in elderly dialysis patients
• Management of the patient returning to dialysis after graft loss
• Hospitalization outcomes in dialysis patients
