Melanie Cohn is a Scientist and clinical neuropsychologist at the Krembil Brain Institute, where she leads the Neuropsychology Clinic, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Her research program focuses on cognitive changes associated with aging and neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease. Integrating clinical neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience, her work investigates the brain systems underlying memory dysfunction and cognitive heterogeneity in Parkinson's disease, as well as cognitive outcomes following neuromodulation therapies such as deep brain stimulation (DBS). Her research also examines how cultural and sex- and gender-related factors influence cognitive assessment, treatment decisions, and outcomes in neurological care. She collaborates with clinicians and scientists across disciplines and mentors trainees, supporting interdisciplinary research and training at the intersection of clinical neuropsychology, brain science, and neurological treatment.
