The 2025–2026 UHN Research Report features stories of scientists, clinicians, trainees, staff, patients, and partners working together to move discovery into impact.
UHN is pleased to launch the 2025–2026 Research Report: Bold by Design.
Every day across UHN, researchers are asking difficult questions and pursuing solutions to some of health care's most complex challenges. This year's report explores how intentional investments in people, partnerships, technology, and discovery are helping turn those questions into progress for patients and communities.
This report highlights the breadth of work taking place across UHN's research enterprise, including the recruitment of leading scientists through Canada Leads, research examining how environmental factors influence health, and advances in artificial intelligence, wearable technologies, and next-generation medical devices. These stories demonstrate how researchers are bringing together expertise across disciplines to accelerate discovery and move innovation closer to where it can make a difference.
Guided by UHN's Research Strategic Action Plan, UHN's efforts reflect a shared commitment to driving research with impact in mind: advancing knowledge, improving care, and creating new possibilities for the future.
This year's report features research achievements, milestones, and stories from across UHN, including:
● The recruitment of researchers to UHN through Canada Leads in an effort to strengthen Canada's scientific leadership
● Teams investigating the links between environmental factors and human health
● Advances in artificial intelligence and health technologies that support research and care
● New approaches to understanding and treating complex diseases and conditions
● Collaborative efforts that connect science, technology, and clinical expertise to accelerate impact
Join us in celebrating a year of discovery, collaboration, and progress toward A Healthier World.
