Our laboratory is currently investigating the organization of cortical inhibitory and excitatory pathways in the human motor cortex, pathophysiology of movement disorders, the mechanisms of action of deep brain stimulation as a treatment of movement disorders and cortical plasticity following peripheral injury such as amputation or nerve and muscle transfer.

The techniques used include single pulse, paired pulse and repetitive magnetic brain stimulation; detailed analysis, computer modeling and co-registration with structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images of electroencephaolgraphic (EEG) cortical rhythms and movement-related cortical potentials.
