Dr. Nigil Haroon (pictured) is a world-renowned researcher and rheumatologist. He’s also a parent, musician, sports enthusiast and wildlife photographer.

Medical research is driven by individuals who are passionate about what they do. They bring diverse interests, backgrounds and skills to UHN’s labs and clinics, enriching the team science that takes place here.

Read the 2022 UHN Research Report to learn how these individuals are working to improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world.

Through videos, images and text, this retrospective report highlights how Canada’s largest research hospital is driven by the following, working in concert towards A Healthier World:

● Real people: through Q&As, meet the students, scientists and postdoctoral researchers that make scientific discoveries a reality;

● Real data: watch videos that discuss findings as parts of larger conversations with the global scientific community; and

● Real impact: learn how research hospitals enable the diverse and tight-knit collaborations that are key to applying research in the real world.

In addition to research funding and publication data, the report features research advancements, national and international research awards, as well as a recap of the generous support of our donor community over the past year, made possible through the dedicated teams at the UHN Foundation and The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
