Melanie Cohn is a Scientist and clinical neuropsychologist at the Krembil Brain Institute. Her work bridges experimental and clinical cognitive neuroscience. In her clinical role, she diagnoses cognitive deficits in various neurological populations, and assesses the cognitive risk of neurosurgical treatments such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) in Parkinson’s disease. On the research side, she investigates how best to predict the cognitive outcome following DBS, the precision of neuropsychological assessments in culturally diverse patients, and memory in older adults and people with Parkinson's disease. She collaborates on multidisciplinary studies involving neuroimaging diagnostic tools and neuromodulation (DBS).
