Three UHN Researchers have been named fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS)—an honour that is considered one of the highest distinctions for Canadians in the health sciences community.

The researchers, who were named Fellows at a ceremony hosted by the Academy on September 17, are Angela Colantonio (TRI Senior Scientist), Susan Jaglal (TRI Senior Scientist) and Katherine Siminovitch (TGHRI Senior Scientist).

“These researchers represent experts in rehabilitation research, chronic disease management and autoimmune disease. They are also distinguished as leaders in knowledge translation and their appointment to the Academy will further enable them to contribute to important health issues in Canada and the world.” said Dr. Chris Paige, UHN’s Executive Vice President, Research & Science.

The Academy was formed in 2004 to serve as a source of expert advice on issues related to the health of Canadians. Fellows are selected through a nomination and peer-review process on the basis of their leadership, creativity and commitment to the advancement of the academic health sciences.
