Dr. Grace named Fellow of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society in honour of her contributions.
Posted On: October 28, 2016
TRI Senior Scientist and TGHRI Affiliate Scientist Dr. Sherry Grace has been elected as a Fellow of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (FCCS). 2016 is the second year that cardiovascular experts—those that have demonstrated clinical, scientific and volunteer leadership—have been selected as Fellows.

The FCCS designation honours Dr. Grace’s research contributions within the realm of cardiovascular rehabilitation. By exploring why certain patient groups fail to complete or enroll in cardiovascular rehabilitation programs, her findings have helped to identify ways of increasing participation in these programs. For example, she recently led the creation of consensus statement for a cardiac rehabilitation model that identifies strategies to improve access to these programs in low-resource settings, including rural and remote areas of Canada.

As a professional society with over 2000 members, the CCS organizes the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) and contributes to Canadian recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.
