Sagar V Parikh, BSc, MD, FRCPC

My research examines health and treatment interventions at three distinct levels: patient, provider and systems. Patient research includes Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR)-funded clinical trials evaluating psychosocial interventions for mood disorders and medication interventions for mood disorders, primarily in bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness).

Additionally, patient research includes clinical characteristics, psychometrics and major collaborations with researchers in molecular psychiatry and genetics. Provider research includes educational research of factors involved in learning, elucidation of a new theoretical model for behaviour change in Continuing Medical Education learners, evaluation of novel educational formats, and design of treatment guidelines implementation packages.

Finally, systems research includes basic epidemiologic studies and design and evaluation of novel service delivery models.
