Alexandre Boutet

Originally from Quebec city, I completed my medical school at McGill University and developed my passion for neuroscience at the Montreal Neurological Institute. I pursued a residency in radiology and a PhD in brain modulation at the University of Toronto followed by a neuroradiology fellowship. I currently work as a neuroradiologist at the University Health Network in Toronto. My main interest is to use neuroimaging to improve patient care. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and social gathering with friends.

My research focuses on translational neuroimaging research, meaning actively taking the research from the bookshelf and applying it to patient care to improve outcomes. With neuroimaging, I develop biomarkers to predict which patient will respond well and also evaluate the efficacy of a treatment. Neuroimaging is also an opportunity for personalized medicine by taking into account individual differences in brain circuitry. I generally work on neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease.
