UHN Researchers Successfully Renew their Canada Research Chairs

Posted On: November 03, 2014
UHN is proud to announce the renewal of Canada Research Chairs for Drs. Tak Mak (Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Inflammation Responses and Traumatic Injury), Linda Penn (Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Molecular Oncology) and Benjamin Neel (Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Signal Transduction and Human Disease).

The Canada Research Chair program provides funding that supplements researcher salaries and helps subsidize research costs, such as graduate student salaries. These stable funds serve to attract and retain the world’s most accomplished and promising scientists. Canada Research Chair holders are expected to improve our depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthen Canada's international competitiveness, and help train the next generation of highly skilled people through supervision, teaching and the coordination of other researchers' work.
