Researchers at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) are invited to submit applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. Applicants must hold an appointment at TRI at the level of Scientist. The successful candidate will be nominated by TRI for the next Canada Research Chair competition.
Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs are for emerging scholars. They should, at minimum, be assistant or associate professors, or possess the necessary qualifications to be appointed to these levels. To meet the criteria of the program, nominees must be no more than 10 years from their PhD degree at the time of the nomination. Applicants who are more than 10 years from having earned their highest degree (and where career breaks exist, such as maternity, parental or extended sick leave, clinical training, etc.) may have their eligibility for a Tier 2 chair assessed through the program’s Tier 2 justification process (further information here).
Applicants must be outstanding and innovative researchers whose accomplishments have the potential to make a major impact, and become an internationally recognized leader in their field; have records of attracting and supervising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and be proposing an original, innovative research program.
Further information regarding nomination and eligibility criteria may be found on the Canada Research Chairs website. For questions about the CRC nomination process at UHN, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applicants are invited to submit the following:
- a complete academic curriculum vitae (CV)
- a two-page research proposal highlighting the major themes of research to be completed over the next five years
- a one-page description of how the applicant will help attract additional resources, including financial, non-financial, training and/or collaboration opportunities
To apply, please visit the UHN Careers website and apply through Posting # 826952.
As part of your application, you will be asked to complete a brief Diversity Survey. This survey is voluntary. Any information directly related to you is kept strictly confidential and cannot be accessed by any member of the search committee. Results will be aggregated for institutional planning and reporting purposes only.
UHN recognizes that scholars have varying career paths and that career interruptions due to personal circumstances can be part of an excellent academic record. Search committee members have been instructed to give careful consideration to, and be sensitive to the impact of, career interruptions in their assessments.
