Tier 1 Chairs are for outstanding established scholars. To meet the criteria of the program, nominees must: be outstanding and innovative world-class researchers whose accomplishments have made a major impact in their fields; be recognized internationally as leaders in their fields; have superior records of attracting and supervising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows (taking into account different practices in the relevant field or discipline); and, as chairholders, be expected to attract, develop and retain excellent trainees, students and future researchers; and be proposing an original, innovative research program of the highest quality.

 

Institutional eligibility criteria:

The Krembil Research Institute (Krembil) is seeking candidates who are actively engaged in novel, field-changing translational research in a chronic debilitating disease with a goal to identify novel therapeutic approaches. The ideal candidate will be engaged in a biomedically-relevant basic research program. 

 

This Senior Scientist position will align with Krembil’s vision and UHN’s strategic research priorities. In addition, candidates must meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree(s) or equivalent;
  • Global reputation as a leading expert in relevant field of research, including evidence of international collaborations with other leading experts as appropriate;
  • Proven track record of research excellence and scholarship, including but not limited to high quality publications, peer-reviewed research funding, training of highly qualified personnel and knowledge translation activities;
  • Demonstrated ability to attract philanthropic support;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and contribution to Krembil.
