  • Prior to UHN, he created the research business development function at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry (now part of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).

  • Mark joined UHN TDC in February 2008 with a background in engineering and entrepreneurship and a focus on medical devices.
  • Prior to joining UHN, he has had the real-life experiences of getting start-ups up off the ground as both CEO and consultant.
  • His experiences include developing strategic business and go-to market plans, transferring technology from research institutions, raising funds, developing product, managing large technical programs, and achieving first major sales to pharma and biotech companies.

  • Prior to joining UHN, he was the President and CEO of R1 Biotech Advisors and the Director of Biosciences at Davarcci Associates
  • He was Senior Associate Director of Business Development in a US biotechnology company and has additional experience in Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property, and Risk Assessment/Management
  • He also served as a Senior Projects Manager and a Special Expert Advisor at US NCI/NIH

  • Joined the TDC in November 2004
  • Prior to joining UHN, she was an Investment Analyst for MedInnova Partners Inc. and University Medical Discoveries Inc., both early-stage venture capital companies affiliated with MDS Capital Corp.
  • Worked as a Research Assistant at the Terry Fox Cancer Research Laboratory, Memorial University
  • She also has experience as a Technology Commercialization Officer for Genesis Group Inc.; the technology transfer arm of Memorial University

  • Prior to coming to UHN, he trained in the Intellectual Property department of a major Toronto law firm focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical patents and worked as an IP liaison officer at Cancer Care Ontario
  • Directed research departments of biotechnology companies in Canada and Germany
