What Opportunities do we have at the University Health Network?

DNA Sequencing Facility
The DNA Sequencing Facility provides high through-put DNA sequencing on Beckman Coulter capillary sequencers.

Gene Profiling Group
The Gene Profiling Group's 5,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art, genotyping facility operates under cGLP guidelines to meet the rigorous standards necessary for DNA analysis and generating quality genotyping data.

The Centre for Global eHealth Innovation
A multidisciplinary team develops and tests new forms of information and communication technologies for healthcare.

The Image-Guided Therapy Group
A team of like-minded individuals that have identified the importance of bringing imaging into the therapy process. Imaging technologies are becoming highly adaptable, allowing integration with the treatment process instead of being dedicated to diagnosis.

Laboratory for Applied Biophotonics
The Biophotonics Laboratory can assist in the scientific/technical design and execution of R&D projects, as well as in pre-clinical and clinical evaluation of novel optical applications in diagnostic or therapeutic medicine.

Microarray Centre
Currently, the Microarray Centre houses 6 highly accurate arrayers, capable of producing a total of 2500 arrays with up to 36,000 features per week. It provides arrays, training and support to over 300 labs around the world.

Philip S. Orsino Cell Therapy Facility
The Philip S. Orsino Cell Therapy Facility is a state-of-the-art facility offering Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) grade cell and tissue processing capabilities.

Structural Proteomics Group
The Structural Proteomics Group has the broad base, in-house capabilities to perform cloning, expression, purification, crystallization/co-crystalliztaion, data collection and structure determination services.

Tissue Culture Media Facility
Tissue culture and bacteriological media is available at very competitive prices through Sera & Media Services at UHN.

Please note: UHN charges a minimal 40% overhead for all SRA and CRA Arrangements.
