Wright Cell Imaging Facility

This facility provides training and access to state-of-the-art light microscopy systems as well as consultation on experimental design and data analysis and microscopy training. The facility is supervised by Dr. Elise Stanley.

  • Internationally recognized website with software downloads for image analysis on the ImageJ platform
  • Located at the TWRI Krembil Discovery Tower (dry lab: 7KD-492; wet lab: 7KD-489)
  • Services provided include: equipment and expertise for state-of-the-art light microscopy technologies, and consultation on experimental design and data analysis

Confocal Microscopy

  • Zeiss LSM510 META upright confocal microscope with visible and UV lasers
  • Widefield Microscopy
  • Zeiss Axiovert 200M inverted widefield fluorescence microscope for live cell imaging
  • Zeiss Axioplan 2 upright fluorescence widefield microscope with deconvolution

Histology and Stereology

  • Leica DMRB upright microscope with colour digital camera for histology, stereology, tissue mapping and neuronal tracing

Image Analysis

  • Bitplane Imaris Suite for multi-dimensional processing, reconstruction and analysis
Using the Facility
  • Accessible to internal, external-academic and external customers
  • No selection while under capacity
  • Booking required

Training
Preliminary training by Wright Cell Imaging Facility staff mandatory.
