
The machine shop is fully equipped to design and build medical devices or modify existing equipment. Located at Princess Margaret, the shop charges for services at a very competitive rate compared to outside facilities. The facility is supervised by Matthew Filleti.

- Manufacturing by: computer controlled machining, conventional machining, 3D printing, sheet metal and welding
- Design by: Solidworks and Mastercam. Virtually any design software can be accommodated

3D printer in house, available for same day prints.

- Computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling and lathe
- Conventional machine shop tools
- 3D Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer from Stratasys
- Tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG) and ARC welding
- Sheet metal tools
- Solidworks CAD software
Using the Facility
- Open to academic and external users.
- Shop staff can work to the researcher’s specifications, or can carry out all the required engineering
- Quotes can be provided
- All projects will be charged to an approved functional cost centre
