Research Interests
I have worked for over 20 years as a general internist with an interest in the diagnosis assessment and treatment of chronic pain.
I was the founding medical director of Rehabilitation Solutions, Functional Restoration Program, the specialty program for the worker's compensation patients suffering from chronic pain. I am presently a consultant in the area of chronic pain at University Health Network and the Medical Director of Health Recovery Clinic
I am an active researcher and participant in the RoundTableProject a group of stakeholders interested in the prevention of chronic pain disability. I am presently a coinvestigator for the Action Project.
And I have acted as a mentor for many years for students, both in medicine and other faculties to learn alternative methods of treating chronic pain.
My research interests are presently related to integrating mindfulness based interventions into medicine and health care system.
