Jesse Hoey, PhD

Dr. Jesse Hoey is an Associate Professor in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, where he leads the Computational Health Informatics Laboratory (CHIL). He has published over twenty peer reviewed scientific papers in highly visible journals, and over fifty peer-reviewed conference and workshop papers
Dr. Hoey's research focuses on planning problems in large scale real-world uncertain domains, and in particular, on probabilistic and decision-theoretic reasoning methods for solving these problems. He also works on computational social science, affective computing, computer vision, assistive technology, and ubiquitous computing.
