Dr. Saint-Cyr is studying cognitive functions in patients undergoing a variety of neurosurgical interventions for the treatment of movement disorders.

Studies also include functional neuroimaging to understand re-organization of cognitive operations as a consequence of deep brain stimulation. In addition, he is involved in improving methods for the neuroimaging-based guidance of stereotaxic neurosurgery.

Finally, in collaboration with biomedical engineers, he is trying to visualize current density emanating from implanted electrodes in vitro and in vivo.
