Dr. MacCallum leads the development and evaluation of innovative educational programs designed to support and empower pharmacists in the care of people with diabetes. Her current research focuses on the evaluation of expanded pharmacy services including an evaluation of the MedsCheck Diabetes program in Ontario. Her research aims to identify the most substantial barriers and facilitators to follow-up of people with diabetes using the theoretical domains framework and to develop and evaluate strategies to improve follow-up by community pharmacists using quality improvement methods.
