Lisa Duizer

Lisa Duizer, PhD

Lisa Duizer PhD is an Associate Professor in the Food Science Department at the University of Guelph. She is a sensory scientist who specializes in measuring sensory properties of food, particularly those designed for older adults.

Her current research focuses on designing pureed foods for individuals with dysphagia which are safe to swallow for individuals and optimum from a sensory perspective. Other projects focus on ensuring that nutritionally improved foods for older adults do not alter liking of those foods. Lisa is a Research Scientist with the Agri-food for Healthy Aging research group, part of the Schlegel-University of Waterloo Research Institute for Aging.
