Genevieve Bouchard-Fortier, MD, CM, MSc, FRCSC

Dr. Genevieve Bouchard-Fortier is a Gynecologic Oncologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. She is a graduate of McGill University and completed her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. During this time, Dr. Bouchard-Fortier also obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology focusing on cancer screening and cancer prevention at the Harvard School of Public Health. She went on to complete her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Toronto studying the outcomes of minimally invasive surgeries for gynecologic oncology patients. She also completed a certificate in patient safety and quality improvement with the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQUIPS). Dr. Bouchard-Fortier joined UHN’s Division of Gynecologic Oncology in 2017. Her research is focused on improving the quality of care of gynecologic oncology patients as well as developing quality metrics to measure outcomes. Currently, she leads a perioperative care program for minimally invasive gynecologic oncology surgical patients (MIGOS) to shorten length of stay, reduce opioid use, improve patient experience and reduce costs.
