The Harrington Scholar-Innovator Award recognizes physician-scientists whose research is innovative and has the potential to change standard of care. Dr. Weaver received the award for his research towards developing a new treatment for Alzheimer disease that targets the immune system.

The new Scholars will have access to several rounds of capital—up to a total of $700,000 USD—from the Harrington Discovery Institute to support the translation of their research into a new drug.

The Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio is an international initiative that helps translate scientific discoveries into medicines that benefit society. Its programs address a range of disease areas and therapeutic needs, with an emphasis on unmet needs.

Congratulations Dr. Weaver!
