Structural
Proteomics in Toronto
(SPiT),
located at the University
Health Network and affiliated with the University of Toronto,
is one of the leading centres for genome-scale protein science. With
long-term
support in place from the provincial and federal governments, U.S.
National
Institutes of Health and the private sector, we are currently expanding
our
research team in Structural Biology.
Specifically, the Chirgadze Lab will be completing a five-year project with
the Ontario Research and Development
Challenge Fund (ORDCF)
entitled “A Network of Protein Crystallography
Labs to
Support Proteomics Research”. This project involves leveraging
scientific technology to integrate Ontario macromolecular
crystallography laboratories to produce proteins and solve protein
crystal structures. The focus of this research is likely to be enzymes
of industrial relevance as well as proteins involved in microbial
pathogenesis.
We are interested in new collaborations with researchers or industry. Please contact Nickolay Chirgadze
We are a part of UHN
Research located at Toronto General Research
Institute. Our lab is in the Max Bell Research
Center. We are also affiliated with the Structural
Genomics Consortium (SGC) and
the Department of
Pharmacology, University of
Toronto.
